As stated before...

...I have entered the college scene. So in my (hopefully brief) time without a TV I have been getting most of my news on the internet. May I just say, that has been an experience. As you might know, news on the web is very different from news on TV. The most evident for me was the convenience. All I have to do is search for a particular topic and ta-da it's there. No hassle with all the other 'filler' stories, just the plain old news. On regular old TV you would hear teasers about what's coming up after the break and you would sit through countless commercials in order to hear the story that interested you; but when the news finally returned it took a seemingly long time to get to the good stuff. Online that hassle is (almost) eliminated and I couldn't be happier.
Unfortunately online news has its own limitations. One that I found annoying was having to go through sponsor offers in order to get to some stories. I've used the skip this ad button more times than I would like. There are other hassles but I think it's best to skip to the point I am trying to make here...
News has changed over the past few years. In my opinion it is for the better. There are still some issues but hopefully they'll be ironed out soon
