Disappointment tastes horrible

The newest reports on the health care debate (more like screaming match) are that President Obama may be considering the possibility of dropping the much opposed 'public option' from the bill all together. This would be a huge disappointment to those of us who believe in the necessity of such an option. What is the point of passing a reform bill if nothing is really going to be reformed? If Obama is still clinging on to the desperate hope that the Republicans will vote for a scaled down bill and as a result bipartisanship will be declared...well, as I said it's desperate. Republicans are not for the bill and for the sake of saving face, will never vote for reform of any kind. Their whole modus operandi (yay fancy words) is now 'defeat the President at all costs, even if our dignity is taken away from us.' I am sorry to say that it seems that our beloved President is showing signs of weakness. I am disappointed and it has left quite a bitter taste in my mouth.
