I cried when I learned of your passing. You have been one of the most influential political forces in America and the world as well as my life. You helped to show me that there can be good in politics if you are willing to fight for it. Your relentless passion for equality has shown me my true calling in the world, to speak for those who normally are unheard or are ignored. Now it is time for you to rest after a life so filled with commitment, passion and unwavering kindness. Thank you for weathering storm after storm to give us, the American people, the hope of better and brighter days ahead. You will never be forgotten for your spirit will live on.
